Private Residence, 7,500 SQ FT
Scope
Interior Architecture • Interior Design

Designed for longtime clients in Beverly Hills, California, this residence reflects a relationship built on years of trust, collaboration, and a shared appreciation for exceptional craftsmanship. Having previously partnered on the clients' Manhattan pied-à-terre, Daun Curry Studio approached this home with an intimate understanding of how they live, travel, collect, and experience the spaces around them. That familiarity created a freedom, allowing every design decision to build naturally upon an established creative dialogue.

Beverly Hills Residence

Although recently constructed, the home underwent a complete architectural and interior renovation to better reflect the clients' identity. The existing interiors lacked the individuality, warmth, and material richness they envisioned. Daun Curry Studio reimagined every room through bespoke architectural detailing, carefully proportioned spaces, and a refined material palette that celebrates craftsmanship and timeless design.

Inspired by the clients' frequent travels throughout Italy, the residence draws upon that country's extraordinary tradition of furniture making and artisan craft. A custom kitchen by Boffi establishes the architectural heart of the home, while furnishings and lighting by Minotti, Baxter, Henge, Paola Lenti, and Pierre Augustin Rose introduce artisanship throughout the interiors. Custom Tai Ping rugs, bespoke millwork, polished Venetian plaster, leathered Taj Mahal quartzite, book-matched marble, and a custom fluted plaster fireplace create an atmosphere that feels quietly luxurious without ever becoming ostentatious.

Art and collectible design play an equally significant role in shaping the home's identity. Carefully assembled over time, the collection includes works by Miya Ando, Anish Kapoor, Nathalie Dechairs, Mel Bochner, John Aaron Frank, Chris Wolston, Eric Roinestad, Hervé Van der Straeten, and Casper Brindle. Rather than serving as decoration, each work participates in an ongoing conversation with the architecture, reinforcing the home's deeply personal character.

The completed residence reflects a life shaped by travel, craftsmanship, enduring relationships, and an appreciation for design that transcends trends. More than a beautifully renovated home, it stands as a testament to the trust that develops between designer and client over time, demonstrating how meaningful collaboration can create interiors that continue to evolve for generations.
